The Assam Right to Public Services Act, 2016 (ARTPS Act) guarantees time-bound delivery of public services to the citizens of Assam. Citizens can apply for notified services, and every application is acknowledged with a task number that can be used to track its status.
Entitlement of the citizen
- Right to obtain notified public services within the stipulated time.
- Right to receive a written and reasoned decision if a service is rejected.
- Right to compensation where a service is delivered late.
- Right to file a first appeal against the decision of a public information or designated officer.
How to apply
- Submit the application in the prescribed form along with the required documents.
- Note the acknowledgement or task number issued at the time of submission.
- Track the application status using the task number.
- If the service is not delivered within the stipulated time, file a first appeal with the appellate authority.
Citizen charter
Services offered by the council, together with the time limit for delivery and the designated officer, are published in the citizen charter and are available on request at the council headquarters.
