ABOUT BKWAC

Established in 2020, the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council is an Autonomous body under the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Act, 2020 of Govt. of Assam with the objectives of socio-economic, educational, ethnic and cultural advancement of the people residing therein. It comprises of Boro Kachari Inhabitant Villages outside the Sixth Schedule Area of Assam. The Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council is the largest Council within the State of Assam, within the framework of constitution.

The Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council spread over Twenty (20) districts of Assam, namely – Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup (R), Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, Golaghat, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Cachar, Hailakhandi and Karimganj.

 MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is to work for socio-economic, educational, ethnic and cultural advancement of the Boro and other tribal people residing therein Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council area of Assam.

VISION STATEMENT:

Our Vision is to create developed society in Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council with quality of life, standards of living equal to other people and other parts of our country.
