The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) lunched the historic Separate State Bodoland movement in the year of 1987 under the leadership of Bodofa Uendra Nath Brahma. After, a long Six years Bodoland movement the 1st Bodo Accord was signed in the year of 1993 created the Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC) and the 2nd Bodo Accord which is popularly known as BTC accord was signed in the year of 2003. In that accord four districts were created i.e.  Kakrajhar. Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri on the north bank of Brahmaputra and the foothills of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.

It is worthwhile to mentioned here that the Boro People living in various district in Assam were also took part in that worldwide popular historic Bodo movement; but the maximum districts of outside BTC are depriving of getting socio-economic and political benefits from these two historic Bodo Accord. And, therefore, the United Bodo People’s Organisation (UBPO) were compelled to lunch the political movements of the Boro people living outside BTC of Assam for creation of Council and others eight points charter of demand spere headed by UBPO in the year of 2014.

As a result, the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council was created in the year of 2020 which was enshrined in the clause No. 5th (i) of BTR Accord, 2020.

Established in 2020, the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council is an Autonomous body under the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Act, 2020 of Govt. of Assam with the objectives of socio-economic, educational, ethnic and cultural advancement of the people residing therein. It comprises of Boro Kachari Inhabitant Villages outside the Sixth Schedule Area of Assam. The Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council is the largest Council within the State of Assam, within the framework of constitution.

The Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council spread over Twenty (20) districts of Assam, namely – Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup (R), Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, Golaghat, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Cachar, Hailakhandi and Karimganj.

 MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is to work for socio-economic, educational, ethnic and cultural advancement of the Boro and other tribal people residing therein Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council area of Assam.

VISION STATEMENT:

Our Vision is to create developed society in Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council with quality of life, standards of living equal to other people and other parts of our country.
